From national roll-outs to individual projects, our factories service a range of demanding projects.
Purchased in 2014, Applelec has moved to a brand new home at Wharfedale Business Park in Bradford. The new 6.3 acre site now accommodates the full Applelec team with dedicated factories for the manufacture of our signage, display and lighting product ranges.
The business park features an off-road entrance with goods-in area which streamlines transportation to and from the complex and ensures Applelec can now accommodate HGVs with trailers. With signage production relocated in phase one of our move, our new two storey factory has been designed with the height required for the production of large-scale architectural signs such as monolith and totems.
At the new factory, our machinery includes a laser welder (known as Samson) and an automated return shaper (the delightful Delilah) which are used in the production of our sign lettering. Delilah takes seconds to shape the returns used in our built-up metal letters whilst Samson is used to laser weld the returns to letter faces.
The latest machinery investment at our Wharfedale site is a new AXYZ CNC router, which delivers higher performance and features a number of enhanced mechanisms to provide improved accuracy and most importantly cutting precision for a range of projects. The new upgraded machine features a seven tool automatic tool changer, helping to reduce production time and enable quicker project turnaround. Other essential kit includes a Dener guillotine, aluminium chop saw and press brake.
Phase two of our move saw Applelec’s lighting production and R&D departments relocate to Wharfedale in the final quarter of 2015. Applelec's Wharfedale Business Park features a space for prototyping, new product testing and programming for projects that require controllers. Manufacture of our award-winning flat light panel.
